lol! How funny. You must live near some wetlands, right? How else would they find you? We have no bodies of water anywhere within 30 miles, so water birds will never stop by our house even if we did build a pond or get flooded.
Of course, even when we do get lots of rain in July or August, it sinks into the ground quickly or runs off into arroyos.

Yes, lots of wetlands around here, we see geese fly overhead morning and night between their nearby (permanent) pond and wherever it is they sleep 🙂
